Reading

It's time for another lesson with Mrs. Smekens. Today she is going to tell you what a good summary looks like. You do not need to complete the Yellow Ribbon assignment at the end of this video. Instead, I want you to use the skills you learned in the video to write a really excellent summary of A Long Walk to Water. Don't forget to share your summary with me, so I can see how well you listened. Happy learning!

The links below are the same lesson, I'm just giving you more than one option in case one doesn't work well for you. :)

Now use all that great information to write a fabulous summary. :)

Vocabulary

Today you will take your vocabulary quiz. Go to your Word Study Google Classroom to find the quiz. Remember to check over your answers to make sure you marked the correct one, and to ensure that you answered every question, then hit submit. Good luck! smiley

Grammar/Writing

Hey friends! If you did not share the writing that you completed yesterday, I'd love to be able to read it. Some of you mentioned that you loved writing funny stories, so this week is the week for you! Today we have a special guest for "class", and some of you might recognize her. wink Mrs. Snell (Hank's mom) knows all about comedy. Believe it or not, there's actually a lot more to writing a joke than you might think! Copy and paste the link below to your address bar to learn a few things about writing comedy! On your grammar/writing Google doc, take a few notes on the different types of jokes that she mentions, and remember to share your doc with me!
